At Health Lab Physical Therapy and Fitness, we believe that helping patients achieve their goals requires addressing the Pillars of Health. Exercise, Sleep, and Nutrition are the foundation for a happy, healthy, pain-free life. These Pillars are present in our logo, and shape our treatment approach. We pair this mindset with modern physical therapy treatments including progressive exercise, loading, dry needling, manual therapy, and education.
Exercise provides countless benefits. Most importantly, making everything else in life easier. You can do easily what you do regularly. Imagine a life where exercise and daily activities feel good.
If you feel like you don't know where to start, let us show you!
Our bodies and brains recover during sleep. We know how we feel after a poor night sleep. If this becomes a habit, our health will suffer. Improving your sleep will improve every aspect of your life.
We have many tips and tricks on how to improve your sleep.
We are what we eat. Whether you want to lose weight, gain muscle, fight disease, or just feel better, this is where you should start.
We can guide you on how much protein you should eat, how much water to drink, and things you should limit. If you need more than basic guidance, there are certified nutrition coaches here at Refuge CrossFit!
Poor mental health is commonly linked to pain and chronic disease. There are many ways to manage stress to improve relationships, sleep, performance, and energy.
Daily mindfulness practice and breathing exercises might be a great place to start! If your life is impacted by stress, we want to help.
#BeAboutIt essentially means "lead by example". We believe that for us to properly engage and educate our patients, we must practice what we preach. We are constantly incorporating different methods of the Pillars of Health in our own lives. Over the years we've experimented with various diets, foods, sleep tactics, exercise methods, stress management, and education strategies. This means you can trust that we know what it feels like to follow through with these choices/actions in a real life or day-to-day situation. If we recommend something, we've likely practiced this ourselves and found benefit. This also means we've made many mistakes, and had times where we are unable to sustain each Pillar to our standard, and we share those experiences too!
We have gained so much in our lives from great mentors and role models. We want to be positive role models for our family, friends, colleagues, and patients. We hope to inspire you to embrace the same mentality for the people in your life.
